Currently, as mentioned in SERVER-59701, Etc/* timezones are not supported and this impacts all previous releases of our product. The fix is currently planned for 5.0 and future releases. I filed this ticket to make sure that our documentation reflects this limitation. The suggestion should be to use alternative timezones, e.g., UTC instead of Etc/UTC. Then, after SERVER-59701 is resolved, we need to remove this restriction from the documentation for v5.0 and later releases.
