Hi,
Following up on https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/HELP-31695, I create this ticket to improve the doc a bit as it's hard ton understand why renameCollection doesn't work on a TimeSeries Collection.
The fact that TimeSeries COLLECTIONS are actually VIEWS in the background isn't clear. It's only mentioned once in the doc here: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/core/timeseries-collections/#behavior at the bottom of the TimeSeries' page. And then to understand that you can't rename a TS collection you have to read this: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/core/views/#immutable-name
And it's not clear that all the limitations on Views then also applies on TimeSeries collections - like rename operation that doesn't work on views for example.
It's a limitation of the timeseries collection and it's not mentioned neither in the rename doc: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/command/renameCollection/ nor in the TS collection limitation page: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/core/timeseries/timeseries-limitations/
Thanks .
Maxime.
