Description
The MongoDB Limits and Thresholds¶ page indicates that
MongoDB only allows sharding an existing collection that holds fewer than 256 gigabytes of data.
However it does not specify the type of storage on which this limit is imposed.
E.g. collStats shows several metrics about storage, with and without indexes, the allocated size vs consumed size.
Can you please clarify to which of these metrics the sharding limit applies?
