$search will not be pushed down into the SBE query execution engine in v7.2 even when featureFlagSbeFull and featureFlagSearchInSbe are enabled. It will continue to execut in the Classic execution engine.

This affects Docs only if the manual will contain any content about which query execution engine $search will execute in. If it is silent about this, then no impact.

Cloud / Atlas teams - this is mainly for awareness. From the discussion with Query directors 2023-11-30, there is not any technical dependency on $search executing in SBE in v7.2, though before this change that was expected to be the case.

In order to release 7.2 without delay, the Query directors have decided to disable $search SBE pushdown in 7.2 in order to avoid SERVER-83519 in 7.2. $search SBE pushdown will remain enabled in future release 7.3, where SERVER-83519 will be fixed.
