    Description

Document the process for doing a partial restore from MMS Backups.

      Broadly the steps are:

      • pull a full restore snapshot
      • expand it into /data/db on a volume
      • stand up new mongodb instance pointing it to the /data/db from previous step
      • use mongodump to dump out the target collection
      • on production system: rename old collection
      • on produciton system: use mongorestore to restore the collection from the files you just dumped out of the snapshot.
