For some users using mongodump is the first choice when it comes to backup.
We should point out more clearly that using fs snaphots and MMS is the best way of doing backups.
Idea:
- reorder the Backup Docs links: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/administration/backup/
- 1st fs snapshots, 2nd mms, 3rd mongodump
- Change the wording to "If MMS and fs snapshots are unavailable, you can use mongodump...)
http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/back-up-and-restore-with-mongodb-tools/- We should also mention the downsides of using mongodump with large datasets on this page.
