I dont think we mention anywhere a list of requirements for being able to backup something with MMS backup.

• It should be a replica set or a sharded cluster
• Oplog window of the set to be backed up should have an average of at least 3 hours over the past 24 hours. Anything less than that will generate an error

Might be worth adding that its conifigurable in the on-prem version with a parameter
