There is an important discrepancy between this page and another on wtimeout.
Here we say
"wtimeout causes write operations to return with an error after the specified limit, even if the required write concern is not fulfilled."
I believe this should be changed to
"wtimeout causes write operations to return with an error after the specified limit, even if the required write concern will eventually be fulfilled."
Note that on http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/core/write-concern/#timeouts
we say: "If the write concern is not satisfied in the specified interval, the operation returns an error, even if the write concern will eventually succeed."
