    Description

      RE: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/program/mongotop/#cmdoption--authenticationDatabase

Regarding the --authenticationDatabase option, the docs have this to say:

If you do not specify an authentication database, mongotop assumes that the database specified as the argument to --authenticationDatabase holds the user’s credentials.

I suspect this confusing statement is a symptom of the tools it is trying to document, which appear to be the source of the problem: TOOLS-400.

It would be good to get the documentation fixed up in the interim.

--authenticationDatabase is basically required for these two tools when auth is enabled. I have not found a way to avoid using it, though would be worth consulting the maintainers of these tools.
