The sections How frequently does WiredTiger write to disk? and journal process say that MongoDB writes to the journal every 100 milliseconds. That number applies to MMAPv1, not WiredTiger. See ~~SERVER-20600~~.

Also, the terms "journal" and "log files" are used interchangeably. It may help to use consistent terms or explain they are synonymous.
