Hello,
Please can the following page be updated to reflect the increased number of file handles required whilst using wiredTiger storage engine.
https://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/ulimit/#recommended-settings
I feel that adding a way of roughly calculating the number of open files required based on the databases collections and indexes may be helpful.
We are currently upgrading to MongoDB 3.2 with wiredTiger and came across the following error during initial sync.
Mar 10 08:31:41 server_name mongod.27017[1509]: [ftdc] Assertion: 13538:couldn't open [/proc/1509/stat] errno:24 Too many open files
Mar 10 08:31:41 server_name mongod.27017[1509]: [ftdc] Uncaught exception in 'Location13538: couldn't open [/proc/1509/stat] errno:24 Too many open files' in full-time diagnostic data capture subsystem. Shutting down the full-time diagnostic data capture subsystem.
Kind regards,
Luke
