Description
Hi All,
There is some confusion regarding the minimum versions of the Linux kernel for specific Linux Distributions in terms of what versions of MongoDB are supported for that version. It's a compliment to the existing table (https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/installation/#supported-platforms) for supported platforms.
Minimum distribution version
| Engine | MMAPv1 | WT |
| RHEL 5.5 | ||
| Debian 7.0 | ||
| Amazon Linux |
The work in this ticket is to establish the included kernel version in the Linux distribution version and to add a similar chart to the example above.
This would avoid a degree of confusion regarding specific Linux kernel versions as instead you could refer to the major release version for the specific Linux distribution.
Let me know if you have any questions on what I mean by this.
Thanks!
Eoin
