    Description

      http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/administration/ulimit/#review-and-set-resource-limits

It says you can change the max number of open files to 20000 with

      ulimit -n 20000

But that fails on Amazon Linux EC2 instances with this error:

-bash: ulimit: open files: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted

This link describes how to do it (and how it is persistent as well):
      http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11342167/how-to-increase-ulimit-on-amazon-ec2-instance

We should mention this on our documentation since many customers will probably work with Amazon Linux on EC2.
