We've had a user request that we provide a download URL for the "latest" stable cdriver tarball. (See CXX-1070 for a tiny bit of context)

GitHub's releases page doesn't do this. (Worse, it doesn't even have "latest" mean actual latest version, so currently the recent 1.3.6 shows as "latest" because it was the most recent release tag.)

I'm not sure how we might do this, but I wanted to open a ticket so the idea isn't lost.
