CMakeLists.txt unconditionally adds -Wno-deprecated-declarations for Apple platforms with a reference to CDRIVER-520 (Secure Transport support). Presumably, there were deprecation errors when building with OpenSSL in earlier versions of the C driver.

This likely no longer applies. Apart from CDRIVER-520 being long-since resolved, libmongoc itself supports much newer versions of OpenSSL.
