We're currently commiting some javascript compilation crimes to force the outdated d3 version we're using to work correctly as a es module (https://github.com/mongodb-js/compass/blob/main/packages/compass-web/scripts/patch-d3-for-esm.js). We should update to latest and remove the workarounds from the codebase
