Because the chats are stateless, we resend the full chat history with each subsequent message. This can cause the sidebar to quickly slow down and negatively impact Compass's performance due to the build up of the historical messages

We should investigate a way to trim down the history so that we have an idea of what the user has been talking about but preserving the performance of the sidebar
