Currently when updating Compass on macos, the update only takes into account the arch that application was built for: if you are on M1 laptop, but your Compass was built for Intel processor, we will download the update for the x64 architecture, even if the update for arm64 is available.

We see a lot of user complaints about application performance on macos which we assume is happening due to people using x64 builds of Compass on arm64 machines. We think that manual update process might be a bit too convoluted for the users and so they stick to whatever version they have installed.

We want to investigate whether we can safely autoupdate x64 application using the arm64 update assets which hopefully leads to more people using Compass versions that are better optimized for their hardware
