Manually adding a field with a dot in it or a subfield in the Select Fields step is ambiguous

      If the user types in foo.bar we can't know if they mean the field foo.bar (one field with a dot in it) or the field at { foo:

      { bar: 1}

      }. ie. the bar field of the foo object.
