      We should document, in the View Documents section of our docs and anywhere else where we mention the Compass documents view in detail, that users will now be able to change the documents they view per page. Earlier it was default set to 20 and users could not modify it, but now they can choose a value from 25, 50, 75, and 100 to be used as the settings for documents viewable per page. The page navigation will honor this value and fetch as many specified documents for the navigating pages as well.

      The modified page size is saved and used as the default:

      • when switching between views in the same tab
      • opening Documents view in a new tab (for the any collection)
      • opening Documents view after restarting Compass

      Something to keep in mind is that users already regularly have performance problems in the Documents view. The components in there (especially the list view, as far as I remember) can take a lot of time to render for larger documents. Allowing users to select, say, 100 documents per page before we improve the performance will exacerbate that.
