From the COMPASS-7381 tech design:

There is a few places where state machine in the main process would need to await on the user interaction response from the renderer process, like the toast actions, for the purposes of normalizing the handling of that, we will extend hadron-ipc package to not only allow easier renderer communication with the main process, but the other way around too.
