Today, when a user edits a connection, changes to the color/favorite/name are not saved when "Connect" is clicked. This is a workaround that we implemented in COMPASS-8133 to ensure that users still have the option to connect to a cluster without saving its password. However, we believe that the vast majority of users who enter the edit connection modal will be attempting to edit the color/favorite/name settings for a connection, not its connection string. 

To this end, we want to save their changes when they press "Connect" if the user hasn't touched the "Edit Connection String" toggle in the connection edit modal. This will maintain the current feature that lets users save connection strings without passwords while also making the edit flow more intuitive.
