In trying to mitigate ticket CSHARP-4669 we identified that further improvements in reducing memory usage could be made by introducing the use of Spans. Using Spans would help reduce the amount of buffer copying done. This would be a gain for customers whose use cases create high memory traffic in the Encryption code.
