Greetings. Thank you for such an excellent object mapper!

A while back, I hit a weird MongoDB limitation. I eventually tracked down the problem, worked with railsjedi to find an appropriate solution, and prepared a patch:

This patch applies cleanly against the current master branch, and all tests pass.

Is there anything you'd like me to change about this patch? The underlying MongoDB limitation seems to affecting users in the wild, and I'd love to get this fix back upstream in some form or another.
