      On https://docs.mongodb.com/mongoid/current/tutorials/mongoid-upgrade/#upgrading-to-mongoid-7-1 we do not list that MONGOID-2681 changes the behaviour of how projections are applied to embedded documents. Anyone relying on the broken behaviour will need to adjust their code before upgrading to 7.1.
