      In Mongoid 9, I propose to drop support for Ruby 2.6 and Rails 5.

      Ruby 2.6 is nearly 1 year in EOL, and Mongoid 7/8 are stable enough that users on older Ruby/Rails versions should have no problem using them.

      It is possible to use Mongoid 7.4 in Prod with Ruby 3.2 / Rails 7, so there is a stable upgrade path for users here (i.e. they can upgrade to Mongoid 7.4, then upgrade Ruby/Rails, then upgrade to Mongoid 9 with continuity.)
