Recently we received a bunch of performance-related issues for Mongoid 8/9. Some of these a results of an oversees, but some of them are results of fixing bugs/introducing new features.

We need to have some benchmarks running on CI, and we need to block merge if the performance degrades more than X. We should be able to still merge if we believe it worth it, but we should be at least notified that the performance degraded.
