Recently we approved v2.0.0 of the "Extended JSON" specification to resolve a number of outstanding issues with the initial version. Our `mongodb-extjson` module is currently in use internally to the company (specifically: Stitch), and therefore needs to be updated with more priority as they updating their implementations in Golang.
