This may be intentional, if so please feel free to close. The 3.6 driver threw a MongoError when you tried to run an empty BulkOp, the 4.0 driver throws a TypeError. This is a super minor insignificant change but just in case it was unintentional I wanted to make a ticket so I would be notified if the behavior changed back to MongoError, as that would break our tests.
