I tried to run the node js binding (build on windows-7-32bit) against a mongo 2.6 server but it stops with errors already upon connecting. Now before setting up the whole build-chain on a windows-xp box, I wanted to know before whether this will be waste of time.

So in short, does the node-js binding will work when I compile it on a windows--xp box? (using npm install)

This is crucial to us since there are still too many users which can't update to higher windows versions, except buying new hardware (a no go as well) or as last resort, dropping mongo
