      AC

      1. Release alpha versions of the following:
        • zstd (3.0.0-alpha)
        • mongodb-client-encryption (7.0.0-alpha.1)
        • kerberos (3.0.0-alpha)
        • mongodb-connection-string-url (4.0.0-alpha)
        • BSON (7.0.0-alpha)
      2. Update driver main to use the above alphas
      3. Let shell and mongoose know which nightly build contains the alphas so that they can begin their testing
      4. Create release notes for:
        • zstd
        • mongodb-client-encryption
        • kerberos
        • mongodb-connection-string-url
        • BSON
        • (NODE-7172) driver
      5. Wait for Shell and mongoose to finish testing alphas
      6. Wait for CLOUDP-349246 to be completed AND released.
      7. Release V7 of the following:
        • zstd
        • mongodb-client-encryption
        • kerberos
        • mongodb-connection-string-url
        • BSON
      8. Update package.json dependencies and peerDependencies in the driver to use the new major versions above (update any manual references to alphas in CI files)
      9. Ensure all remaining V7 work in the driver is merged, including the migration guide and compat table updates
      10. Ensure the release notes are correct
      11. Release V7 of the driver
      12. Update releasability threshold references in perf dashboards for Node and BSON
      13. Rename the mongodb-client-encryption release action to remove reference to 6.1 (or file follow-up)
      14. Update the driver x mongodb-client-encryption 6.0.0 task to test against mongodb-client-encryption 7.0.0
        • We no longer need forward compat testing, since we plan to specify the driver's peer dependency range for mongodb-client-encryption as `>=7.0.0 <7.1.0`.  But we still need the back compat.
