      snappy 7.4.0 through 7.4.2 broke require() from the CommonJS entry, which is why CI currently pins the dev dependency to 7.3.3 and strips snappy installs from the test runner. 7.4.3 ships a fix matching that symptom, but it has not been verified. See NODE-7766 for more details.
