Motivation

Based on our existing user research, data from surveys, etc we have concluded that what users want is for MongoDB to have better integrations with the tools that they use. Below is a collection of tickets that are specific to the PHP community where we understand the following:

• the dominant IDEs for PHP developers are phpStorm and VSCode
• the dominant frameworks are Laravel (50%) and Symfony (24%)
• most php developers (45%+) use container technologies like docker and rocket

therefore we will as part of our 2021 strategy include integrations with these items to the extent we are able.
