      For historical reasons, execute methods accepted WriteConcern or ReadPreference objects before the options array was introduced in PHPC-1042 (ext-mongodb 1.4.0).

      That API has been deprecated in documentation for some time and should be removed for 2.0. I don't not think this warrants a 1.final ticket to emit a deprecation notice, but we can certainly consider that.
