DarkiBoi has created Issue #3461: [5.x] Auth::login($user) fails silently (session not persisting) after upgrade in laravel-mongodb. This Jira ticket was filed by GromNaN

      Issue Text:

      • Laravel-mongodb Version: 5.5.0
      • PHP Version: 8.4.5
      • Database Driver & Version:

      Description:

After upgrading mongodb/laravel-mongodb from version 4.x to 5.x, the Auth::login($user) method appears to execute without errors, but the user session is not persisted.

Specifically, Auth::check() returns false on subsequent requests or immediately after the login call. I have reviewed the breaking changes documentation for the 4.x to 5.x migration, but I could not find any references to changes in Authentication logic or session serialization that would explain this behavior.
