      1. What would you like to communicate to the user about this feature?
      2. Would you like the user to see examples of the syntax and/or executable code and its output?
      3. Which versions of the driver/connector does this apply to?

mongodb/mongo-php-library#1189 for PHPLIB-1143 recently added links to Atlas documentation. We were not able to use the :atlas: text role at the time, but chris.cho@mongodb.com suggests this should be possible:

I think you can use extlinks defined in your conf.py. Here's an example:

      'atlas': ('[https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com%s](https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com%25s/)', ''),

This would require a change to mongodb/docs-php-library.

Snooty certainly supports this (it's used in the server manual already), so this issue can optionally be done earlier if we want it working with Giza.
