      Per the Drivers Maintenance & Compatibility policy, the previous major version receives patch releases for one year after the new major ships.

      mongodb/mongodb 2.0 was released in December 2024, so the one-year support window for the 1.x branch expired in December 2025. The 1.x branch is now out of the maintenance window and can be dropped.
