      DRIVERS-1459 requires that drivers use a separate MongoClient for internal CSFLE metadata queries (e.g. listCollections on the keyvault database). Since libmongoc does not implement CMAP, this is not applicable and the same MongoClient is used; however, the spec test runner needs to be modified to ignore extra events that will be observed due to using the same MongoClient (see: mongodb/mongo-c-driver@abf9905).
