      Context

      The drivers-evergreen-tools submodule lives inside the working tree when checked out. Lint tooling scans its files and produces fixes that cannot merge into this repo.

      Definition of done

      • Linting ignores drivers-evergreen-tools/ entirely.

      Pitfalls

      • Excluding it in .pre-commit-config.yaml alone misses ruff runs from editors and the CLI, which read pyproject.toml.
