Expose a way for users to set global logger and deprecate setting a sync-specific logger

      Now that there is a general core logger that will be used by default in sync, we should expose that to users. It seems like the plan in core is to move toward using that for everything and away from sync-specific loggers, so we should probably also deprecate the Sync.setLogger method. We could also consider making that method set the global core logger rather than just setting the logger for sync, and is just a deprecated alias for setting the global logger.
