The aws-ecs auth tests currently run on the requested evergreen instance, and then provision (from there) a new ECS instance and run the tests in that instance. This is as designed. However, it is not clear how that ECS instance is configured. It currently runs Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic), and should be updated to Ubuntu 22.04, but I'm not sure how to make that happen. We need to make time to investigate the processes there.
