Ruby version 1.3.1 not reconfiguring properly when replicaset master changes

      When the replicaset reconfigures I need to restart all my ruby applications across 2 web servers and 3 backend servers. We saw better behavior with 1.4.1 but we reverted to 1.3.1 when the latest was pulled because we were seeing 20 second delays.
