      According to the MongoDB documentation http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/connection-string/, the database in the uri is optional, but the Ruby 2.0 driver raises an error https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-ruby-driver/blob/master/spec/mongo/client_spec.rb#L205
