I do not have this problem with driver 1.11.1. I've upgraded to the 1.12.x driver series twice with the same result: "Timed out waiting on socket read" for queries on large collections. Interestingly, I did not have this problem running in my development environment on my Mac.

This is blocking me from moving up to 1.12.x and therefore moving to Mongodb 3.0.x.
