While working on HELP-69439, I learned the hard way that there is minimal documentation about full text search (the legacy $text operator, not $search). It made it difficult for Query Integration as a team to act as owners of the FTS part of our charter.

Writing a README (even if starting with just bare bones) is important since FTS is mostly old code that goes untouched so we have no active knowledge-building around FTS and minimal institutional knowledge of it.
