As per today, the JS Core framework offers very limited support for validating the expected behavior of a routing node against specific stale information in its cache, due to the impossibility to deterministically set up the needed metadata by only using end user commands.

The objective of this ticket is to provide a new test-only mongos (and possibly, mongod) command to allow setting specific per-namespace shard version onto the Routing Information cache of the node.
