The legacy `Socket` class `mongo/util/net/sock.{h,cpp}` is a synchronous interface which does not appear to be used for any purposes apart from `ldap_test` and a single unittest.

Investigate removing this essentially dead code, and replacing its remaining use-cases with newer alternatives if possible.
