Temporarily revert SERVER-50301 to unblock testing for upgrade/downgrade between 4.4 and 8.0

      Currently upgrade/downgrade testing between 4.4 and 8.0 is blocked on 8.0 being able to accept both oplog v2 and oplog v1 entries. The query team is currently designing a solution for this; however, to unblock ourselves in the meantime we should revert SERVER-50301.
