Due to changes in SERVER-89650, sharding may retry an operation due to stale shard version.
This can cause index usage counters to be incremented several times, which canĀ make tests like index_stats.js flaky.
In this ticket I propose to simplify logic in index_stats.js around $lookup to just check that it is counted without asserting exact numbers.
