      investigate additional stats that customers may find useful when trying to debug kinesis issues.

      Some suggestions to start:

      1. symptom: slow sink

      Perhaps we should expose the partitionKey logic. If all documents are going to the same shard, then that shard is always overloaded and requires a 1 second timeout.
